Mok Fa Waterfall is situated on the North Side of Doi Suthep/Pui National Park around 45km from Chiang Mai on route 1095 to Pai and Mae Hong Son. The Falls are actually situated a further couple of KM down a semi paved road but it is well signposted on route 1095. If you do not have your own transport then charter a car, tuk tuk or Songtaew in Chiang Mai.
One of our favourite waterfalls, Mok Fa, sits in a beautiful natural setting in the boundaries of Doi Suthep/Pui National Park. The crystal clear water at the base is ideal for a refreshing swim on a hot day. From the park office you have a choice of two walking routes to the falls. Following the nature trail is highly recommended and not much further than the direct route. On the return follow the route by the river. Proceeding the main Mok Fa Water Fall you will encounter a smaller waterfall called Ob Noi flowing through a mini gorge. To one side of the main Mok Fa Falls is a natural cave (Bat Cave) which is home to bats. They can be seen exiting the cave around dusk.
